Entry to the village grounds is free, so you can stroll the historic area, browse the shops, and enjoy the lake without paying admission. Individual attractions like the carousel or boat rentals may have their own small fees.

It is a restored 19th-century village set within the New Jersey Pinelands, featuring a collection of specialty shops, restaurants, a scenic lake, a carousel, and charming colonial-style architecture. It blends a living history atmosphere with a relaxed shopping and dining experience.

Spring and fall are especially pleasant, offering mild weather and beautiful scenery around the lake. The village also hosts popular seasonal events around the holidays, making late November through December a festive time to visit.

Most visitors find two to three hours is enough to explore the shops, walk around the lake, and grab a bite to eat. If you plan to dine at one of the restaurants or attend a special event, budget a bit more time.

There is no formal dress code, and the atmosphere is very casual and family-friendly. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since the village involves a fair amount of strolling on brick and cobblestone paths.

The village is located in Marlton, New Jersey, and is most easily reached by car, with parking available on site. It sits near the intersection of Route 73 and Route 561, making it accessible from Philadelphia in roughly 30 minutes and from Atlantic City in about 45 minutes.

Photography for personal use is generally welcome throughout the outdoor areas of the village, and the picturesque lake and historic buildings make for great shots. Inside individual shops or restaurants, it is courteous to ask before photographing.

The village is situated near the edge of the Pinelands National Reserve, so nature trails and scenic drives are close by. Batsto Village, another historic Pinelands site, is about 30 minutes away and pairs well for a full day of heritage exploration.

The outdoor grounds of the village are generally pet-friendly, and the lakeside paths are popular with dog owners. Pets are typically not permitted inside shops or restaurants, so plan accordingly and always keep your dog on a leash.
