Nepal's lakeside city
Pokhara is Nepal's second-largest city and its premier leisure destination, set beside Phewa (Fewa) Lake with the Annapurna massif and the distinctive fishtail peak of Machhapuchhre rising behind it. The Lakeside district is the hub for hotels, cafรฉs and boat hire.
What to see and do
- Phewa Lake & Tal Barahi โ row out to the island temple in the middle of the lake.
- Sarangkot โ the classic sunrise viewpoint over the Himalaya.
- World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa) โ a hilltop stupa with panoramic views.
