Oak Park is an open public park accessible at any hour of the day. It is a popular spot for both early morning walkers and evening strollers.

Late spring through early autumn, roughly May to September, offers the most pleasant experience when the trees are in full leaf and the fountains are running. Summer evenings are especially lively with locals enjoying the shade and cool air.

Most visitors spend between 30 minutes and an hour exploring the shady alleys, fountains, and the statue of Manas. You can easily combine it with other nearby sights in central Bishkek to fill a half-day.

The statue depicts Manas, the legendary hero of the Kyrgyz epic poem considered one of the longest oral epics in the world. He is a central symbol of Kyrgyz national identity, and the statue is one of the most photographed landmarks in Bishkek.

Photography is freely permitted throughout Oak Park, including at the Manas statue and the fountains. There are no known restrictions for personal or tourist photography.

Oak Park sits close to several central Bishkek highlights including Ala-Too Square, the State History Museum, and the bustling Osh Bazaar, all of which can be visited in a single half-day walking tour.
