Second, everything around the trip itself — Travia Marg records your treks, rides and climbs with no signal needed, Atlas plans itineraries and picks out what is worth seeing nearby, and travellers organise their own events and write the guides.

Is Travia free to use?

Yes. Searching and comparing is completely free for travellers, and so is Travia Marg — tracking, trails and challenges cost nothing and need no app install. Individuals can host their own space for free, and businesses get a dedicated workspace with a full dashboard for their listings.

What else is on Travia besides booking?

How does Travia compare prices?

For stays, tours and cars, Travia brings together listings from local Nepali operators and global partner sites and shows them side by side. For flights, it compares fares across airlines. Every price is converted at the official Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) rate, so you compare like for like.

How do I make a booking?

Search your destination and dates, compare the options, then reserve directly with the host or operator — you’ll see a confirmation and can manage it from your profile. Flights are different: Book takes you to the airline’s own website to buy the ticket.

How do I pay?

Stays and tours are confirmed with pay-at-property — you book now and pay when you arrive (cash or a local wallet like eSewa/Khalti, depending on the host). Nothing is charged on Travia when you book. Flight tickets are paid on the airline’s website.

Can I cancel or change a booking?

Cancellation and change policies vary by listing, so check the listing’s policy before you book. You can view and manage all of your bookings from your Profile page.

How do reviews work?

Only travellers who have actually completed a booking (or, for real estate, a property viewing) can leave a review. That keeps every rating on Travia genuine.

How does flight search work?

Choose one-way, round-trip or multi-city, your airports and dates, and search. Travia compares live fares across airlines and lists them with times, stops, duration and baggage. Airport search works as you type — by city, airport name or code.

Where do I buy the ticket?

On the airline’s own website. The Book button on a fare opens the airline’s site, where you buy the ticket under the airline’s terms. Travia does not send you through third-party booking agencies.

Can I see whether other dates are cheaper?

Yes. Above the results, “Compare fares on nearby dates” shows the cheapest fare on the days around the date you picked — tap one to search that day instead.

Can I narrow down the results?

Use the filters beside the results (or the Filters button on a phone): stops, price, airlines, connection airports, trip length, departure and arrival times, included baggage, and hiding budget airlines. Sort by Recommended, Cheapest, Fastest or Fewest stops.

How do I sign in? I don’t have a password.

Travia has no passwords. Enter your email address on the sign-in page and we send you a one-time link plus a six-digit code, either of which signs you in. The link works for 10 minutes and can only be used once. You can also continue with Google.

The sign-in email hasn’t arrived.

Check your spam folder first, then use “Try sending again” on the verification screen. If the link in the email opens but doesn’t sign you in — some corporate mail scanners rewrite links — type the six-digit code from the same email into the box on that screen instead.

How long do I stay signed in?

At least a day on any browser you sign in on, and for as long as you keep using Travia — up to 90 days from that sign-in — unless you sign out. You can see and sign out each browser separately in Security → Devices.

Under Preferences in your profile, one page per topic: Appearance, Language & currency, Location, Notifications, Ads & personalization, Privacy and Connected apps. The Theme menu under your profile picture changes light/dark, colour, text size and contrast directly.

How do I change the city my feed is based on?

Open Preferences → Location and set your feed country and city. As a signed-in traveller that setting is the only thing that moves your feeds — travelling or using a VPN never silently changes what you see.

What is Travia Marg?

“Marg” is Nepali for road. It is Travia’s outdoor tracker: it records treks, hikes, trail runs, rides, climbs, kayaking, paragliding and more, and it is built for places with no coverage. It also carries surveyed Travia trails, Himalayan Challenges and an offline emergency beacon. It is free.

Do I need to install an app?

No. Marg runs in your browser like the rest of Travia — open Marg, choose your activity and press Start. There is nothing to download and nothing to pay for.

Does it really work without a signal?

Accepted Answer

Yes, that is the point of it. Recording keeps running with no connection: your route is saved on your phone and uploads itself once you are back online. The emergency beacon works offline too.

Which activities can I record?

GPS-tracked: day hikes, multi-day treks, trail runs, cycling, mountain climbing, kayaking and rafting, and paragliding. Logged by hand: rock climbing, bungee jumps, swimming and strength training — GPS cannot follow those, so you enter the figures yourself rather than have the app invent them.

Can I bring activities over from another tracker?

Yes. Upload a .gpx, .tcx or .fit file and it becomes an ordinary Travia activity, with the same stats, map and sharing as one you recorded here.

Distance and elevation goals you can join from the Challenges page. Finishing one earns Travia Rewards Miles — the same Miles you earn on bookings, so outdoor activity and travel spend go into one balance.

Who organises events on Travia?

Travellers do. Anyone signed in can host one — a trek, a hike, a meetup, a cultural outing — and anyone can join. They are not tour products sold by an operator, which is why they are free to join and why the organiser is a person rather than a company.

How do I join one?

Open the event and RSVP. You get a QR pass for the day, the schedule, and access to the event’s public discussion, so you can ask the organiser something before you commit.

Use “Host an event”, set the place, date and how many people can come, and publish. You can edit it afterwards, see who has joined, and message attendees.

Travia works in 5 languages — English, Nepali, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Russian — and supports two currencies, NPR and USD, converted at the official Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) rate. NPR is the default for Nepal.

How do I save a place for later?

Tap the heart on any listing card. Saved items appear under Saved in your profile, where you can group them into collections, view them on a map, and open any of them again.

How do I remove something I saved?

Open Saved and use the ✕ on the card. It is removed straight away, and you can move an item between collections from the same card.
