The dashed line is the mapped corridor through the valley and its villages, not a surveyed footpath. The real trail switchbacks around it — treks are verified against the corridor, not metre by metre.

About this trek
A steady climb from Godawari, past the National Botanical Garden, through dense forest to the Phulchowki summit at 2,762 m — the highest point ringing the Kathmandu Valley. Clear mornings give views from the Himalaya to the plains; March and April bring the rhododendrons into bloom.
