Getting Around Nepal: Flights, Buses & Local Transport

Domestic flights

Carriers such as Buddha Air, Yeti/Tara Air and others connect Kathmandu with Pokhara, Bharatpur (for Chitwan), Bhairahawa (for Lumbini) and mountain strips. The short hop to Lukla (the Tenzing–Hillary Airport) is the usual start of the Everest trek. Flights save many hours over the winding roads but can be delayed by weather, so build in buffer days.
